Vacancy – Accountant

Do you enjoy putting in controls, love reporting on the financial results, ANEW Resort Hunters Rest and ANEW Hotel Highveld are looking for an experienced, well-organized, attention to detail and admin orientated Accountant to provide the necessary support, to the General Manager and Head of Departments, to achieve the targets of the property.

Duties, responsibilities, and requirements:

  • The overall management of the accounting function and responsible for the Finance team
  • To produce monthly Management Accounts and to ensure that these are accurately and timeously produced, adhering to the deadlines.
  • To review the month end pack/balance sheet and ensure that all reconciliation items are followed up.
  • Any admin accounts matter, to be completed (paying accounts, checking salaries, helping with debtors and o status, etc)
  • Create financial forecasts and assist in achieving budget targets.
  • Monitor, control expenditure and income (Management Controllable Profit – MCP)
  • Monitor stock taking procedures and ensure all stock takes are conducted
  • Coordinate finance team by managing schedules, communicating relevant information, developing, and maintaining filing systems to maintain records, prepare reports, and provide financial information to the General Manager and Head of departments.

Education and Experience Requirements: –

  • 5 or more years of proven experience as an Accountant within the hospitality industry will be advantageous.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office). Computer literacy.
  • With experience in Sage Pastel Evolution Accounting software package
  • Bachelor’s Degree in commerce or relevant field; will be an advantage
  • Good administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Current knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
  • High level of numeracy skills, disciplined, attention to detail, will be essential.
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written, in English
